NORTH BRUNSWICK – The achievements of the newest Scholar Athlete Artists were celebrated in June.
Isha Shrivastava and Keyon Hill received proclamations from the North Brunswick Township Council on June 5.
Isha is in the sixth grade at Linwood Middle School where she received High Honor Roll every semester.
She is a member of the Linwood Middle School Drama Club, she plays the flute for the Linwood Middle School Jazz Band and is part of the cross country team at Linwood.
She participated in the North Brunswick Science Symposium with her team, where her project titled “Measuring Purity of Drinking Water” won second prize in Most Popular Category.
Isha’s artwork was exhibited in the North Brunswick Municipal Building from September 2016 through May 2017.
Isha is a member of the North Brunswick Rapids swim team and was a participant in the North Brunswick Municipal Alliance Get Up and Move Prevention Program.
She has participated and placed in many competitions, including the Hispanic Heritage Month essay, the Regional Spelling Bee, the Vocabulary Bee, the Math Olympiad, essay writing, and the HindiUSA Jeopardy contest.
Isha volunteers for Hindi USA. She also participates in North Brunswick Township India activities and various Indian cultural activities, such as Indian classical and Bollywood dance, civic projects, public discussions and math classes.
Keyon is in the tenth grade at North Brunswick Township High School. He has received honor roll each marking period.
He is part of PUSH (Prevention Using Student Help) and the Student Government Organization, as well as volleyball, winter and spring track, and cross country at the school. He played basketball while attending Linwood Middle School.
Keyon volunteers at Saint Mary’s Baptist Church as an usher. He directs congregant seating at Mass, collects the offering and assists where needed. He also sings in the church choir.
