Patrons will have an opportunity to explore sharks and the coral reefs – on dry land – at the Old Bridge Library this month.
The library’s monthly InQuire science program will feature “Coral Reef CSI” at 2:30 p.m. on July 23.
The session will allow attendees to explore coral reefs, learn about their unique environment and discuss the effects human actions are having.
Participants will have a chance to conduct several hands-on activities to investigate the health of the reefs as well.
The program is geared for ages 10 and older and will be presented by Amy Penney from the Center for Aquatic Sciences at Adventure Aquarium.
Then, Steve Woyce will present “The Magic of Sharks,” a 45-minute shark-themed magic show that is both educational and entertaining, at 11 a.m. on July 29.
Volunteers will help build a shark by “magic,” play “Fish or Fin,” explore a treasure chest and learn why the white-tip shark is known as the most magical shark in the ocean.
The Old Bridge Library is located at 1 Old Bridge Plaza at the corner of Route 516 and Cottrell Road in the Municipal Center.
