NORTH BRUNSWICK – Members of the North Brunswick Township High School (NBTHS) Student Government Organization (SGO) have pooled their efforts to raise more than $5,000 for charity.
“The Day By Day Hope Foundation is a foundation designed to help middle income and self-employed families facing the devastating effects of cancer by providing support with day-to-day activities such as meals, household chores and yard services, as well as assistance navigating the financial, legal and insurance issues they may be facing,” SGO advisor Missy Pineiro said.
During the course of the school year, students raised money during Pep Weeks with a class canning battle, a charity links competition and Penny Wars. They also held a Student Sell Off and a Color Run. Lastly, students did a scratchoff fundraiser during the winter which raised about $1,000.
“Members of our Executive Board also canned at ShopRite and all the money donated that day went toward that $5,000 as well,” Pineiro said.
