OLD BRIDGE – A man has been found dead inside a burned-out shed.
The Madison Park Volunteer Fire Company was alerted to the fire at about 8:09 p.m. July 23 on a residential property in the Madison Park section of Old Bridge, according to a statement provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief William Volkert of the Old Bridge Police Department.
Firefighters arrived to find a shed fully engulfed in flames, according to reports. The shed suffered extensive damage and the rear of the residence sustained exposure damage as a result of the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Among those called to the scene were the Madison Park Fire Department, the Old Bridge Fire Prevention Bureau, the Old Bridge Police Department, the Middlesex County Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office. No firefighters or police officers were injured.
