Subtitled films will be shown at Monroe Library

A variety of movies are scheduled to be shown at the Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe, throughout August.

At 2 p.m. on Aug. 1, a World War I documentary film will be shown. The Globe Trekker special travels across France and Belgium visiting key WWI locations. Run time is one hour. Registration is not required.

The 2017 Summer International Film Festival sponsored by The Friends of the Library will be held at 2 p.m. on Aug. 3, 10 and 17.

On Aug. 3, the French drama “Intimate Strangers” will focus on a woman seeking psychiatric counseling who mistakenly enters a tax accountant’s office and develops an unusual relationship.

On Aug. 10, the 2015 British romance set in Victorian England centers around Bathsheba Everdene attracting three very different suitors in “Far From the Madding Crowd.”

“Leviathon” on Aug. 17 is a Russian drama where Kolya is forced to fight the corrupt mayor when he is told that his house will be demolished. He recruits a lawyer friend to help, but the man’s arrival brings further misfortune for Kolya and his family.

All films have subtitles.

Tickets are $1 and are available at the Circulation Desk and at the door before each showing.
