A NASA ambassador and a Princeton University researcher will examine the wonder of solar eclipses and hurricanes, respectively, at the Old Bridge Library.
“Exploring the Solar Eclipse” at 7 p.m. Aug. 10 will prepare patrons to view the upcoming Aug. 21 solar eclipse, which will be visible within a specific band across the contiguous U.S.
Presented by NASA Solar System Ambassador Frank O’Brien, the session will explore the nature of solar and lunar eclipses. It will also provide information about how participants can protect their eyes to safely view the eclipse, and special eclipse viewing glasses will be given to attendees after the program.
This program is best suited for ages 10 to adult.
The library’s monthly InQuire Science program topic will be about hurricanes at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 13.
The session will examine how hurricanes form, the different components of a hurricane forecast and the impacts associated with hurricanes.
The interactive talk will be led by Dr. Kieran Bhatia, a postdoctoral researcher at Princeton University.
