The 21st Callaway Metropolitan Golf Association’s (MGA) Senior Open Championship will be played at Forsgate Country Club on Aug. 28 and 29.
The tournament will be played on the Banks Course at Forsgate, which is located in Monroe.
The tournament, which will be stroke play and held over 36 holes, is open to area PGA professionals, assistant professionals and amateurs with a handicap of 4.5 or less who are age 50 and older, according to a press release from the MGA.
The tournament’s field will be cut after 18 holes on Aug. 28. The low 40 golfers and ties, along with any player within five shots of the lead, will shoot to win the tournament’s championship trophy and a check worth $5,000.
“The club is honored to be hosting the area’s top senior professionals and accomplished amateur players,” Forgate’s Director of Golf, Carolyn Andrews, said. “The Banks Course presents many challenges, especially around the greens. We are looking forward to welcoming the competitors who have qualified for this prestigious championship.”
