MANALAPAN – Police are investigating the theft of an expensive piece of equipment from the property of a Manalapan resident.
Manalapan police said that just after 5 p.m. Aug. 25, a 52-year-old resident reported the theft of a trailer from his property on Pension Road.
The resident told police that sometime between 10 p.m. Aug. 24 and 5 p.m. Aug. 25, unknown individuals stole a black SealMaster trailer from the backyard of his residence. The stolen item is valued at $10,000. The case is pending investigation. Patrolman Peter Bylsma handled the report.
In other incidents reported by police:
• On Aug. 26 at 5:54 p.m., officers responded to Best Buy, Route 9, for a report of shoplifting. Best Buy loss prevention employees detained an individual who had allegedly attempted to conceal $199.99 worth of merchandise in her purse and was stopped before leaving the store. Police said a 28-year-old female from Neptune was transported to police headquarters, charged with shoplifting and released.
• On Aug. 22 at 8 a.m., Patrolman Matt Porricelli responded to a Manor Court residence for a report of a stolen vehicle. A 73-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown individual removed a 2002 Red Hyundai Sonata valued at $1,500 from in front of the home.
• On Aug. 22 at 11:37 a.m., a 65-year-old Manalapan resident reported that an unknown individual used two banks in New York City on July 28 and made three withdrawals totaling $4,502.50 by using the victim’s identification and debit card.
