MARLBORO – The 34th annual Marlboro Day celebration will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 10 at the Marlboro municipal complex, 1979 Township Drive.
The event will feature activities for people all ages. There will be food vendors, public service representatives, crafters, representatives of nonprofit organizations and commercial vendors.
The Green Meadow’s petting zoo will allow guests to meet and pet farm animals.
“Marlboro Day is a great community event,” said Ted Ernst, Marlboro’s recreation director. “It brings together all aspects of the community from youths to adults and everyone in between. I think there is something there for everyone. It is a great thing the Township Council provides for the town and it is one of the many things the council supports from the recreation department.”
For those who want to keep up with what is happening on a Sunday afternoon in the National Football League, there will be a lounge where guests can watch football with Mayor Jonathan Hornik.
“It’s my favorite time of year and my favorite holiday,” Hornik said of Marlboro Day. “Please come out if you have never been there. It is an awesome day in town. We get anywhere between 15,000 and 20,000 people throughout the day. It’s like a county fair.”
Parking will be available at the Marlboro Library, Wyncrest Road; the Marlboro Elementary School, School Road West; the Marlboro Middle School, Route 520; and the Marlboro Recreation Community Center, Wyncrest Road. Shuttle buses will transfer guests to and from the municipal complex between 11:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
There will be police vehicles and fire equipment on site at Marlboro Day for visitors of all ages to view. No alcohol, smoking or pets are permitted at the event. The rain date for Marlboro Day is Sept. 17.
