Info sessions planned for YMCA Teen Leadership Retreat

The YMCA of Metuchen, Edison, Woodbridge and South Amboy (MEWSA) will hold a three-day Teen Leadership Retreat at Camp Mason in Hardwick from Oct. 13-15.

The retreat is free of charge for children ages 12-18 who are members of their respective YMCA. Participants of the 7th Grade StrongKids Program are also eligible.

Attendees will be introduced to the Leaders Club program, which is organized for the purpose of developing youth as leaders and fostering a culture of service, according to a statement provided by the Y. The retreat will offer knowledge and training that will help teens to better serve others and to shape a healthy lifestyle themselves.

There will be information sessions held at the Metuchen branch, 65 High St., Metuchen, and the South Amboy branch, 200 John T. O’Leary Blvd., South Amboy, on Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. and at the Edison branch, 1775 Oak Tree Rd., Edison, on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m.

In addition to receiving more information about the YMCA, the information session will provide parents and teens with the weekend agenda, information about the weekend activities an opportunity to meet the staff.
