EDISON — Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at the Shezan Banquet and Restaurant on Oak Tree Road last week that left a 56-year-old Queens, New York man with minor injuries to his jaw and right upper arm.
The incident occurred at 5:35 p.m. on Sept. 5, according to Police Lt. Robert Dudash.
The suspects, described as two black males in their early 30s, allegedly ransacked various areas of the restaurant looking for cash and valuables. Prior to leaving, the suspects locked the victim in an office where he was able to call police.
The victim sustained a minor injury to his jaw after being struck with a handgun by one of the suspects. The victim also sustained minor cuts on his right upper arm after being slashed by the second suspect with a knife. The victim was taken to JFK Medical Center for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of cash and valuables, police said.
