MANALAPAN – Police are seeking the assistance of the public as they investigate an incident of criminal mischief.
Manalapan police said that shortly after 11 a.m. Sept. 17, Patrolman Aaron Abeles responded to a residence on Crystal Court to investigate a report of criminal mischief to a foreclosed home.
Crystal Court is off Thompson Grove Road, near Route 537.
Police said it was determined that unknown individuals entered the home sometime between Sept. 1 and Sept. 16 by breaking a window. The individuals subsequently did extensive damage to the interior of the residence.

In other incidents reported by police:
• On Sept. 16 at 6:20 p.m., juveniles threw rocks through a rear door window of the home at 813 Dancer Lane, but did not gain entry. Dancer Lane is off Gravel Hill Road. Police said the residence is vacant following a recent fire. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Patrolman Adam Sosnowski at 732-446-4300.
• On Sept. 15 at 3:06 p.m., a loss prevention officer from Target, Route 9, reported a theft. The employee told police that on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m., a suspect who was described as a white female, about 5-feet, 5-inches tall, about 35 years old, with brown hair, stole a Dyson vacuum cleaner valued at $599.99 from the store.
• On Sept. 17 at 1:45 p.m., Patrolman Aaron Abeles responded to Wegman’s supermarket, Route 9, for a report of a shoplifter in custody. Police said a 34-year-old female resident of Howell attempted to shoplift $473.46 worth of merchandise. She was arrested, processed and released pending a court date.
• On Sept. 13 at 3:33 p.m., Patrolman Douglas Zike responded to a business on Craig Road to investigate a report of fraud. An employee of the business reported that multiple packages, valued in the amount of $11,744.75, had been shipped to Newark. The employee was later advised the incident was a scam. This incident is pending further investigation.
