Colts Neck
Colts Neck High School looks for its first victory of the season when it hosts Manalapan High School on Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
The Cougars lost to Marlboro High School, 20-14, on Sept. 28 in Marlboro. Colts Neck scored the game’s first two touchdowns, but it gave up 20 unanswered points, including the game-winning touchdown run to Marlboro’s Johnny Helff in overtime.
The loss dropped the Cougars to 0-4 on the season.
Freehold
Freehold High School quarterback Ashante Worthy’s 206 yards and two touchdowns were not enough in the Colonials’ loss, 55-21, to Manalapan on Sept. 28 in Manalapan.
Freehold receiver Matt Krauss had eight catches for 145 yards and a touchdown in the effort. The loss dropped Freehold to 1-3 on the season.
Freehold will be home to Monroe Township High School on Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
Freehold Township
Freehold Township High School rolled past Neptune High School, 35-9, at home on Sept. 28.
Quarterback Nick Reardon threw for 169 yards and three touchdowns in the victory. The Freehold Township defense had four sacks and a fumble. The victory helped the Patriots remain undefeated at 4-0.
Freehold Township travels to Perth Amboy High School on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Howell
Howell High School quarterback Edwin Morales shined again in a 30-7 victory over Toms River High School North on Sept. 28 in Howell.
Morales threw for 113 yards and two touchdowns, while Howell running back Nick Chambers gained 186 yards on the ground and two touchdowns. The victory lifted the Rebels to 4-0 on the year.
The Rebels travel to Neptune on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Manalapan
Manalapan knocked off Freehold, 55-21, to remain undefeated at 4-0 on Sept. 28 in Manalapan.
Running back Naim Mayfield had 264 rushing yards and four touchdowns for Manalapan. The victory brought the Braves to 4-0 on the year.
Manalapan travels to Colts Neck on Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
Marlboro
Marlboro scored its first victory of the year in a 20-14 victory over Colts Neck on Sept. 28 in Marlboro.
The Mustangs were down, 14-0, early before ripping off 20 unanswered points. Quarterback Johnny Helff scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner in overtime for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs are 1-3 on the season.
Marlboro travels to East Brunswick High School on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
