Big trucks were big draw at fire company event

MILLSTONE – More than 700 people – children and adults alike – recently gathered on the grounds of the Millstone Township Primary School for a chance to get up close to fire trucks, dump trucks, and farm and construction equipment during the Millstone Township Fire Company’s Touch A Truck event.

The Sept. 30 event also featured demonstrations, food and a chance to talk with Millstone firefighters, according to a press release.

“This event was so much fun, both for the community and for the fire company members,” Millstone Township Fire Company President Scott Bice said. “We can’t wait to do it again next year.”

Bice thanked the Millstone Township K-8 School District for the use of the primary school grounds and said various organizations helped to make the event a success.

Those businesses and organizations include Hunter Jersey Peterbuilt, Millstone Township Department of Public Works, Clayton Concrete, Allentown High School FFA, Asprocolas Acres, Freehold Cartage Inc., Northeastern Building Supply, New Jersey Forest Fire Service, Waste Management Inc., DeFalco’s Towing, Millstone Township First Aid Squad, New Jersey State Police, New Jersey Fire Sprinkler Agency, Millstone Township K-8 School District, Paul’s Signs and Vesuvio’s Pizza
