Nominations for the Young Adult Peer Advocate Award and Youth Advocate Award are due by Oct. 31 by emailing Lou Ann Benson at [email protected]. The awards will be presented during the North Brunswick Township Council Meeting at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 by members of the North Brunswick Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee.
The Young Adult Peer Advocate Award is presented annually to a North Brunswick Township High School senior, though private school students may submit as well, who distinguishes herself/himself by demonstrating examples of strong character, leadership skills and academic achievements. The student must share a positive attitude that has influenced their peers.
Students should submit why he/she believes he/she is deserving of receiving this award; his/her GPA; detailed information on clubs, organizations and volunteer efforts; and a phone number and email address for contact purposes.
The North Brunswick Township Parks and Recreation Youth Advocate Award is presented annually to a volunteer who distinguishes himself/herself by engaging in public or private efforts which promote positive activities and support the best interest of the youth of North Brunswick.
The nominator should submit why they believe the candidate is deserving of the award. Detailed information on the nominee’s involvement with the youth of the community, as well as contact numbers for the nominator and nominee, are required.
