FREEHOLD – The Freehold Rotary Club will host a fundraiser to benefit the Freehold First Aid Squad.
On Oct. 26, the club will host a Halloween costume dance party at 618 Restaurant, 618 Park Ave., from 7-11 p.m. Dinner is included with admission and drink specials will be offered. The event will feature raffle prizes and costume prizes. Costumes are optional, but recommended.
Tickets are $40 if purchased before the event and $50 if purchased the day of the event. Individuals may purchase tickets online at www.eventbrite.com/e/freehold-rotary-halloween-costume-dance-party-tickets-37011346935
All proceeds from the event will go to Freehold EMS (Freehold First Aid Squad) to assist with the purchase of a Stryker Power Pro XT Stretcher, an electric stretcher.
Freehold Rotary Club President Jamie Stimpson said the standard stretchers used by Freehold EMS are 15 years old and manual. A stretcher requires two to four emergency personnel to operate it and has a weight limit of 400 pounds.
The electric stretcher has a weight limit of 700 pounds.
“[The electric stretcher] will enable the first aid squad to have a resource that will serve all demographics in town,” Stimpson said.
Freehold EMS responds to more than 4,500 calls annually, according to Stimpson. It is an all-volunteer organization and provides emergency services to Freehold Borough and Freehold Township.
“The Halloween dance party is a really fun event for a great cause,” Stimpson said. “Get a group together to come, win prizes and dance the night away.”
The Freehold Rotary Club was founded in 1929 with the purpose of dedication to philanthropy, public service and helping those in need.
