The Monroe Township Cultural Arts Commission’s Opera Lecture Series with Live Arias will continue at 1 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Monroe Township Library, 4 Municipal Plaza, Monroe, with a lecture performance titled, “The Music of Kurt Weil”
The German and American composer lived only to age 50, yet he composed operas, musical stage shows and both film and radio scores. This performance will feature the Three Penny Opera (from which the song Mack the Knife originated) as well as Lady in the Dark, Lost in the Stars and Knickerbocker Holiday (September Song) and others.
It is presented by Boheme Opera NJ with Jerry Kalstein as lecturer.
