EDISON — Police are investigating a shooting at the E Hotel Banquet and Conference Center in Raritan Center that left two men with serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wounds, according to police.
Police were dispatched to the hotel, which was hosting a Halloween party for various members of the African American Social Services/Collegiate and Professional Fraternities, at 12:42 a.m. on Oct. 27 on a report of a disturbance.
When officers arrived, they observed a number of party guests fleeing the banquet hall on foot and in cars. Inside, police found some guests arguing and brawling.
The two men — a 21-year-old Newark man and a 20-year-old East Orange man — were in the same car sitting in traffic leaving the hotel when they were shot, police said.
The Newark man suffered a gunshot to the arm and abdomen and the East Orange man suffered a gunshot to the leg, police said.
Both victims were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with serious, but non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Edison Police detectives are investigating the incident and looking for suspects involved in the shooting. Police ask anyone with information to call 732-248-7400.
