The Count Basie Theatre and Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine are working together for the Basie Health & Wellness Series, a group of programs intended to promote physical, emotional, mental, social, spiritual and environmental wellness through the arts.
As part of the series, author and alternative medicine advocate Deepak Chopra and self-help champion Elizabeth Gilbert, the author of “Eat, Pray, Love”, will make appearances at the Basie, 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank.
Chopra will appear at the theater on Nov. 30 and Gilbert’s appearance will be on March 15, 2018. Tickets to both events, priced between $29 and $75, are on sale through theBASIE.org, by phone at 732-842-9000 and at the Basie’s box office.
“We are very honored to launch this speaker series with the Count Basie Theatre,” said Lori Knutson, administrative director of Hackensack Meridian Integrative Health & Medicine in a press release. “The arts are an imperative part of the health and well-being of the whole person – mind, body, and spirit. We are thrilled about this partnership and supporting the well-being of our community.”
“The Count Basie Theatre is pleased to partner with Hackensack Meridian on this exciting and important new series,” said Adam Philipson, president and CEO of the Count Basie Theatre. “The opportunity to bring speakers to the region with uplifting and motivational information seeks to improve our daily lives, and without a doubt will become one of our nonprofit organization’s more popular offerings.”
According to the press release, health and wellness are core to the non-profit Basie’s mission, part of which is to enrich the community’s quality of life by generating opportunities for participation in the arts, partnering with schools and collaborating with other mission-based organizations.
