FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – With the goal of maintaining readiness for any incident that may occur in the community, the Freehold Township Police Department hosted an active shooter training activity at the AMC Freehold 14 movie theaters at the Freehold Raceway Mall on Oct. 25-26.
Freehold Township Police Lt. Daniel F. Pasquinucci said officers from the Freehold Borough Police Department and the Marlboro Police Department, and trainers from the FBI’s Crisis Management Unit also participated in the training exercise.
Pasquinucci said the officers were first trained on police tactical maneuvers and then participated in scenarios in which they put the tactics they had learned to use.
The lieutenant said the Freehold Township Police Department is committed to practicing and preparing to respond to any threats facing the community. He said the training exercise at the movie theaters was successful and said future training exercises with surrounding jurisdictions are being planned.
