Cynthia A. Beshel (nee Ervin), 72, of Brant Beach passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2017. Cindy was born in Philadelphia and raised in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Education from Hood College she taught first grade, which she loved. She and her husband raised their four children, living first in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, before settling in Princeton, New Jersey.
As a little girl, “Bebe” summered on Long Beach Island. The tradition continued with her “birdies” and “grand birdies” (children and grandchildren), gathering every summer in the family home in Brant Beach. In 2015, BeBe became a full time resident of LBI where she enjoyed being part of the Garden Club of LBI; she also was a lifelong member of the Brant Beach Yacht Club. Passionate about horseback riding, Bebe also volunteered her time for many years with the Special Equestrians organization.
For the past twelve years she wintered in Marco Island, enjoying the company of family and friends, walking on the beach, and studying the habits of the local osprey. She loved stargazing and all holidays, which she celebrated with exuberance and a great deal of glitter.
BeBe was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Joseph Jacob Beshel, Jr. in 1999. She is survived by her children, Jeffrey of London, England, David (Jennifer) of Melrose, Massachusetts, Jonathan (Christa) of Maplewood, NJ, and Susan Beshel of Princeton, NJ and four grandchildren, Joseph, Matthew, Elizabeth and Addison. Also surviving is her sister, Cheryl Baldi (Robert) of Doylestown, PA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bugbee-Riggs Funeral Home, 1119 Long Beach Blvd., Ship Bottom, NJ 08008. Private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s memory may be made to either the Special Equestrians, 2800 Street Road, P.O. Box 1001, Warrington, PA 18976 or the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, 1495 Smith Preserve Way, Naples, FL 34102.
