SOUTH BRUNSWICK – The Democrats will retain control of the governing body in South Brunswick.
Chris Killmurray was re-elected to the position of mayor, while Kenneth Bierman was re-elected to the position of councilman during the general election on Nov. 7.
Killmurray was appointed as deputy mayor in April after the passing of Frank Gambatese, and Bierman was appointed to fill Killmurray’s council seat.
Killmurray received 7,289 votes, or 70 percent, against former town councilman and Republican John O’Sullivan, who received 3,068 votes, or 30 percent, according to election results provided by Middlesex County.
Bierman garnered 6,882 votes, or 67 percent, opposed by Republican Julie Ferrara, who received 3,354 votes, or 33 percent, according to the county.
None of the candidates could be reached for comment post-election.
