HOLMDEL – Incumbents Eileen Briamonte and Peter Reddy along with newcomers Jamie Collins and Terence Wall were elected to the Board of Education.
Seven candidates ran for the four available seats on the Holmdel Board of Education. Incumbents Briamonte, Reddy, John Martinez and faced first-time candidates Collins and Daniel Bodnar for the three-year terms.
“I am grateful to all those that came out to re-elect me to the Holmdel board of education. We have made many strides over the last three years so I would expect us to continue moving in the same direction as there is still much to do,” Reddy said.
Reddy continued, “[the] biggest goal is to continue implementation of the 2020 initiative. After that it’s to continue improving our district from an educational perspective.”
Newcomer candidates Wall and Jaimie Ochojski ran for the one-year term.
Briamonte gained 24.19 percent of the votes and received a total 2,075 votes. Reddy obtained 22.85 percent of the votes and recorded 1,960 votes. Collins finished with 25.01 percent of the votes and registered 2,146 votes, according to Monmouth County Clerk website.
Wall took in 58.47 percent of the votes and collected 1,968, according to the Monmouth County Clerk website.
“It’s an honor to serve the schools I attended as a child. Also, it’s great to be able to make a positive difference in my hometown. Our four children are now attending the same schools. The circle of life is a beautiful thing and I believe that we can do all things well,” Wall said.
