Surgery robot will visit Brunswick Square Mall

The da Vinci Xi system is the latest in advanced robotic surgical technology. Earlier this year, Hackensack Meridian Health Raritan Bay Medical Center-Old Bridge added this cutting-edge technology to its surgical suite, opening the Center for Robotic Surgery under the direction of board-certified Dr. Frederick Sabido, general surgeon.

People visiting Raritan Bay’s robotic surgery event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 at the Brunswick Square Mall, across from JCPenney, 755 Route 18, East Brunswick, will have an opportunity to see the da Vinci Xi in action during a demonstration with Dr. Sabido, have a chance to try out the robot, and test their own unaided “surgical” skills versus the da Vinci robot.

Raritan Bay is also holding a contest to name its robot. Submit an entry via www.rbmc.org/HelloMyNameIs. The winning entry will receive an Amazon Echo, powered by Alexa. The contest closes at 5 p.m. Nov. 30. One entry per person. Participants under the age of 18 must have parental consent. Additional terms may apply.
