Margaret “Gayle” Paterson Sweeney, 82, of Washington Crossing, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 16, 2017. Born in Moosic, PA, Mrs. Sweeney resided in Washington Crossing for the past 50 years. She was employed by the Prudential Insurance Co. in Newark, NJ before marriage and raising her family. Gayle devoted her life to her children, grandchildren, extended family, and many pets. She loved reading, quilting, and traveling with her cousin, Charyl “Chuck” Pascoe and dearest friend, Gina Erdelsky.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 44 years, Daniel J. Sweeney, and beloved daughter, Kathy Sweeney Ford. Gayle is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen Sweeney of Washington Crossing, NJ; Peggy and Jim Hollasch of Flemington, NJ; and Tricia and Rick Tramontana of Ringoes, NJ; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Vicki Sweeney of Cranford, NJ; grandchildren Ryann, Hannah, Danny, Erin, Danny, Charlotte, Sydney, and Jake; and brothers, Larry Hart of Montclair, NJ, and Jack Hart of Brick, NJ.
