Local mechanic named Master Automobile Technician of the Year

A certified automobile technician with local connections received a national achievement award from Chrysler.

James Yanuzzelli was honored as the Chrysler/ASE Master Automobile Technician of the Year during the fall Board of Governors meeting of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) held at the Marriott Mission Valley in San Diego on Nov. 15. A resident of Parlin, Yanuzzelli is a master technician at Buhler Chrysler Dodge
Jeep Ram Fiat in Hazlet. He has been a technician for 40 years.

The ASE annual awards spotlight top scorers on the ASE Certification Tests from among the ranks of the more than a quarter million ASE certified professionals nationwide, according to a prepared statement.

Mark Munsell, Technical Training Curriculum manager for Chrysler; Jeff Walker, chairman
of the ASE Board of Directors; and Timothy Zilke, ASE president and CEO,
presented the award to Yanuzzelli.

Jim is one of the outstanding ASE certified professionals recognized annually by different segments of the automotive service and repair industry. Each of these elite technicians is presented with an industry-specific award recognizing their achievement,” Zilke said in the statement.

“ASE has been honoring outstanding automotive professionals in our industry for more than 40 years, and we are proud to once again recognize 47 outstanding individuals from across the nation,” Zilke continued. “We are proud to partner with Chrysler to recognize Jim’s commitment to excellence in providing the very best in vehicle repair services to his extended community.
