MARLBORO – The township’s annual holiday lighting event will be held at 6 p.m. Dec. 13 at Town Hall. Visits are expected from Santa, Little Elf and Miss Dreidel.
Music will be provided by the Marlboro High School band and chorus.
During the holiday season, Marlboro is holding a toy drive in partnership with Charity Kings. Donations of new, unwrapped toys would be appreciated, according to municipal officials.
Immediately following the lighting of the township’s Christmas tree and Hanukkah menorah, refreshments and hot drinks, donated by Whole Foods, will be served inside Town Hall.
“We are once again very excited to again host Marlboro’s annual holiday lighting event where we will light our town’s Christmas tree and Hanukkah menorah and spread holiday spirit with the help of the Marlboro High School orchestra,” Mayor Jonathan Hornik said.
“This celebration recognizes how diverse Marlboro is (and it is) where all our different religions and cultures come together as one as we ring in the holiday season together. All are welcome to attend,” he said.
The Marlboro Recreation Department will hold a chocolate house decorating event from 4-5:30 p.m. Dec. 13. Pre-registration is required. The cost is $19 for Marlboro residents and $24 for non-residents. The activity is open to all ages. For more information, call 732-617-0100.
