COLTS NECK – A public hearing and vote on an ordinance to amend the section of the municipal code that describes parking prohibitions in Colts Neck has been tabled until the Dec. 13 meeting of the Township Committee.
The public hearing on the ordinance and a vote by the committee was scheduled for the governing body’s Nov. 29 meeting, but did not take place.
Committee members said a motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of the municipal building could have prevented individuals who wanted to speak on the matter from reaching town hall.
Colts Neck Police Sgt. Paul Santucci said a dump truck hit power lines near the entrance to the municipal complex on Cedar Drive.
Following the incident, authorities placed cones in the area and blocked access to Cedar Drive and the municipal complex. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
