Gordons Corner Fire Company names new officers

MANALAPAN – The Gordons Corner Fire Company has sworn in new line officers and association officers for 2018-19. A ceremony was held on Jan. 1.

The new line officers are Chief Robert DiTota, 1st Assistant Chief Michael Alongi, 2nd Assistant Chief Frank Kuka, Capt. Larry Kole, 1st Lt. Jason Kole, 2nd Lt. Joshua Shalikar and Fire Police Capt. Matthew Nicosia.

The new association officers are President Eric Nelson, Vice President Matthew LaVecchia, Secretary Leandra Kane, Treasurer Joseph Lezamiz and Assistant Treasurer Nicholas Macchio.

The outgoing chief for 2016-17 was Paul Kwiecinski and the outgoing association president for 2016-17 was Hal Brager, according to a press release.

Service awards were presented to several members of the fire company.

Certificates of recognition and appreciation were presented to Wegmans, Uncle Gino’s Marketplace and Starbucks for their outstanding corporate citizenship and support of the fire company, according to the press release.

Manalapan Deputy Mayor Jack McNaboe swore in the line officers and Township
Committeeman David Kane swore in the association officers. Township Committeeman Kevin Uniglicht was also in attendance at the ceremony to support the firefighters.

The volunteer Gordons Corner Fire Company was established in 1962 and serves Fire District No. 1 in Manalapan. The fire company has two locations: the primary firehouse at 683 Tennent Road and a satellite station at 226 Pease Road.
