Edison man dies after struck by car while crossing Amboy Avenue

 

EDISON — A 68-year-old township man died hours after he was struck by a car on Amboy Avenue in the Clara Barton section of Edison as he crossed the street near 4th Street, according to police.

The victim, a Liddle Avenue resident, was struck at 7:50 p.m. on Jan. 28, police said.

He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with head injuries and died hours later, police said.

Police have not released the man’s identify pending notification of his family.

No charges have been filed against the driver, who is a 35-year-old male from the Fords section of Woodbridge, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
