Students may nominate teachers for Applebee’s essay contest

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar has launched its Above and “BEE”yond Teacher Essay Contest, which will award top teachers with a $500 sponsorship check for the 2018-19 school year and an end-of-year party for his/her current class.

To nominate a teacher, students must submit an essay in-person at his/her local Applebee’s, explaining why his/her teacher deserves to be “Teacher of the Year.”

The contest is offered at Applebee’s restaurants in New Jersey owned and operated by local franchisee Doherty Enterprises, which include Edison, Howell, Manalapan, Manchester, Middletown, Milltown, Ocean, Tinton Falls and Woodbridge. One winner will be selected from each set of counties, grouped together by geographic area; Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean are part of one region.

Contest submissions will be accepted through March 31, and winners will be announced on April 9.
