To the editor:
On February 17, Hillsborough residents will vote for two open seats on the Board of Fire Commissioners. On the ballot for the upcoming election is long time resident and leader of the Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Judy Faulkner. I want to share my excitement for Hillsborough residents, as they have the opportunity to benefit from her continued service to the community in this new role.
Through my time with the squad, serving under Judy was nothing short of a privilege. She made me excited to come to work everyday, and constantly challenged me to become the best provider I could be. Through her tireless dedication to the squad and extensive continuing education, Judy continually demonstrated qualities of a true leader.
I truly hope that Hillsborough residents will benefit from Judy’s persistence and diligence in the role of fire commissioner. Judy has a long history in emergency services and has an intricate understanding of how the shift in EMS coverage affects the fire district in many ways, as a certified firefighter and EMT. She would bring a knowledgeable fresh perspective to the board with the goal of saving taxpayers money while upholding the quality of fire response and training in Hillsborough.
When voting on Saturday, please consider Judy to truly make a difference on the Board of Fire Commissioners.
