Alzheimer’s New Jersey, formerly known as the Alzheimer’s Association Greater New Jersey Chapter, announced it raised nearly $750,000 through its annual Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s in 2017.
The walk is the largest event for the organization to raise awareness and funds to support local programs for individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias in New Jersey.
A team from Freehold Township High School raised $7,791 and earned the School Spirit Award at the Southern Regional Walk, according to a press release.
“We thank the thousands of individuals, organizations, businesses and schools that are involved with our walks year after year,” said Alzheimer’s New Jersey President and CEO Ken Zaentz.
“We are incredibly grateful for their dedication to helping the 500,000 New Jersey residents who have Alzheimer’s disease or are caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or other dementias. Because of them, we are able to continue our mission of supporting the local needs of families impacted by Alzheimer’s disease,” Zaentz said.
One hundred percent of the funds raised by Alzheimer’s New Jersey support Garden State individuals and families, according to the press release.
