With a wellness program, a Holmdel resident looks to improve the morale of employees and, subsequently, their production.
Brooke Lichter serves as a member of Zerkers, an outdoor adventure wellness program that intends to help other companies create a healthy lifestyle for their staff and become more productive in the workplace.
According to Lichter, the Zerkers team creates a custom wellness program for employees consisting of team building, personal growth, stress reduction, volunteer opportunities, coaching and more. Team building activities include outdoor adventures, equine-assisted team building and improvisation.
“We believe it is absurd that recent studies show that 80 percent of the world’s population hates their job, and nearly 63 percent are unengaged in their career,” Lichter said. “In addition, studies shows that nearly 80 percent of the world’s population is not getting the recommended amount of exercise. This epidemic has lead us to to high rates of depression, stress, anxiety, obesity, unemployment, unhappiness and lack of fulfillment in life. Our children and future generations are suffering the same fate. So we have created a way to help empower adventure seeking men and women struggling to pursue their true passion in life and overcome their biggest challenges.”
Adventure activities offered by Zerkers include hiking, kayaking, white water rafting, surfing, axe throwing, ATV, corporate improvisation, indoor/outdoor rock climbing, and indoor/outdoor skydiving, according to Lichter.
As a licensed social worker and certified equine specialist in mental health and learning, Lichter facilitates all equine-assisted team building workshops and outdoor adventure experiences, and helps employees with their individual strengths and needs.
Zerkers is led by CEO Jon Christian, a certified professional coach, facilitator and learning consultant who founded the company in 2010. He formed Zerkers after recognizing he didn’t enjoy what he was doing, prompting him to pursue pushing and challenging his mental limits, according to Lichter. He later lived in Costa Rica for three months before returning to the United States and launching Zerkers’ first official adventure challenge program in 2012.
Coaches with Zerkers include retired Navy SEAL Mike Vogel, Bobby Reyes, Theresa Horezga and Dan Lopez. Caro Aguilar, Bryon Hyer, Kadi Cier and Michelle Bouzek serve as travel and logistic coordination members.
“Zerkers is a path to true happiness, higher quality of life and empowers you to achieve your big life goals while challenging you to new adventures,” Lichter said. “We believe we can take a stand for investing in exponential personal transformation through leadership, multipliers and purpose driven missions, while leveraging unique abilities and catalyzing more freedom in our lives, more opportunities in careers, more contribution in the world and more value creation in the marketplace.
“We seek those looking to leave a legacy for future generations by working together to create a global network of aspiring purpose-driven individuals and a future where 95 percent of people in the world are living a fulfilled life causing a perpetual cycle of abundance and happiness, even if we have to sacrifice the current education system.
“It’s too big of a vision to do all at once, but we’re starting with evolved education and coaching experiences that challenge people to achieve more while impacting their lives and the lives around them in exponential and positive ways,” she said. “Through adventure challenge experiences, wellness programs and coaching, we are challenge people to impact their lives, conquer their fear and live their legacy.”
