Healthy Kids Running Series to be held for five weeks in East Brunswick

Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram will sponsor the Healthy Kids Running Series taking place on Sundays, April 8, 15, 22 and 29, and May 6, in East Brunswick.

The five-week program is designed to make running and physical fitness fun for kids. The events that kids can participate in include a 50-yard dash for 2-3-year-olds, a 75-yard dash for 4-5-year-olds, a 1/4-mile dash for kindergarteners and first graders, a 1/2-mile dash for second and third graders, a one-mile dash fourth and fifth grades and a one-mile dash for sixth to eighth graders.

 

Children compete each week for points. The top boy and girl with the most points in their respective age division at the end of the program earn a trophy. All participants will get a medal and gift bag.

Onsite registrations are welcome each week, where checks of $35 per participant for the registration fee for the duration of the Healthy Kids Running Series are preferred. You can also sign up for the program online through April 22.

All runs will start at the Community Arts Center, 721 Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, beginning at 4:30 pm. Participants should arrive at 3:45 p.m. if they have not pre-registered or did not pick up their race bag at Race Bag Pick-up Night, which takes place from 4-6 p.m. April 6 and from 9 a.m. to noon April 7 at CrossFit Barbending, 3 Joanna Court, Suite E, East Brunswick.
