SOUTH AMBOY – A local hair salon supports an organization that helps keep New Jersey’s shores clean.
Talkin’ Heads Salon in South Amboy is an Aveda concept salon, which means they promote using natural products, and use organic products when possible.
Each year, the salon raises money for Clean Ocean Action, a nonprofit organization that helps clean the Jersey Shore.
“We collect money raised at our local St Patrick’s Day Parade and now we run a tricky tray cocktail party,” Talkin’ Heads owner Patty Wurtz said. “It’s a lot of fun and we manage to raise funds. We ask local waterfront restaurants to help donate gift cards. This year, we plan on expanding our gift cards to local car washes, oil changes and rounds of golf.”
The tricky tray event will be held from 7-9 p.m. April 21 at Talkin’ Heads, 122 S. Broadway.
“We had a real nice turnout last year [and are] hoping to see some more faces this year,” Wurtz said. “It was mainly our clients that showed up and some friends and family too. We have tons of raffles and gift certificates to be won – restaurants, movie tickets and bowling to name a few. It truly is a fun evening for all.”
