100-year-old loses home in Easter Sunday fire

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A 100-year-old woman lost her home in a structure fire on Easter Sunday.

Police Chief James Ryan said the fire on April 1 in the Monmouth Mobile Home Park “appears to be accidental from cooking.”

Anne Sheridan, who was recently profiled in a Sentinel article, lived alone in her home at 24 Cherry St. in the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick.

Fire departments from Kendall Park, Kingston and Monmouth Junction arrived, as well as first aid squads from South Brunswick, Princeton and North Brunswick, according to police.

Sheridan was still in the hospital as of April 5.
