MILLSTONE – The Township Committee has appointed one person to work as Millstone Township’s temporary construction official and temporary fire inspector following an employee’s retirement.
On April 4, committee members passed a resolution appointing Jeremy Kuipers to the positions of temporary construction official and temporary fire inspector. Kuipers will receive an annual salary of $13,202 as the temporary construction official and $3,939 as the temporary fire inspector, according to the resolution.
Kuipers’ term as the temporary construction official and temporary fire inspector began on March 29. His appointment followed the retirement of Michael Martin, whose final day was March 23.
In other business, committee members authorized the establishment of a commodity resale agreement with the Millstone Township Board of Fire Commissioners. The commodity resale system is for the sale of fuel and the township will serve as the lead agency for the agreement, according to the resolution.
Mayor Gary Dorfman, Deputy Mayor Nancy Grbelja and committee members Bob Kinsey and Fiore Masci voted to appoint Kuipers and to authorize the commodity resale agreement. Committeeman Michael Kuczinski was absent.
Additionally, Dorfman appointed Thomas Tofte as an alternate member to the Environmental Commission to fill the unexpired term of former member Nick Frost. Tofte’s appointment will expire on Dec. 31. And, Dorfman appointed Julie Carr as a member of the Historic Preservation Commission to fill the unexpired term of former member Pam Teel. Carr’s appointment will expire on Dec. 31, 2021.
