Police: Driver in fatal accident may have been driving wrong way on Route 130

NORTH BRUNSWICK – One driver was pronounced dead while another had to be freed from his vehicle after a motor vehicle crash on April 6.

Around 1:39 a.m., police were dispatched to a reported motor vehicle collision at Route 130 and Adams Lane, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Police Department.

First arriving units discovered the collision was on the northbound side of Route 130, nearest the Renaissance Boulevard intersection. The early investigation determined the 2015 Ford Fiesta may have been traveling opposite the flow of traffic on Route 130, until impacted by the oncoming vehicle, police said.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle was entrapped and freed by North Brunswick fire and EMS personnel; he was transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
