Pedestrian stuck, killed by two tractor trailers in South Brunswick

 

SOUTH BRUNSWICK – A fatal crash forced the closure of Route 1 northbound for six hours on April 24.

South Brunswick Police responded to Route 1 north between Henderson Road and Blackhorse Lane for a pedestrian struck around 4:45 a.m.

The male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene at 5:06 a.m. The victim was in a travel lane when he was struck by two tractor trailers, according to police. The location of the crash was not near an intersection and there were no nearby crosswalks, police said.

Both drivers of the tractor trailers stayed on scene, according to information from the South Brunswick Police Department.

Police are withholding releasing the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin
