Library hosts art lecture for asian-american heritage month

 

The East Brunswick Library will hold “From Perfumed Gardens to Industrial Landscapes: Artistic Engagements with Nature in Past and Present Asia” at 7 p.m. on May 7 at the library, 2 Jean Walling Civic Center, East Brunswick.

The presentation examines the rich histories of landscape in Asian art and how artists have been drawing from past traditions to draw public attention to the importance of preserving nature.

The lecture by Tamara Sears will celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month. Sears is an associate professor of Art History at Rutgers University.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the East Brunswick Public Library and is free and open to the public.
