MILLSTONE – The Township Committee has appointed a new construction official and fire inspector.
On April 18, committee members passed one resolution appointing Jeremy Kuipers to the position of construction official and a second resolution appointing Kuipers to the position of fire inspector.
Kuipers’ term as construction official began April 30. He will receive an annual salary of $25,147, according to the resolution. According to the resolution appointing him as fire inspector, the appointment became effective March 29 and will expire on Dec. 31. As fire inspector, Kuipers will receive an annual salary of $3,939.
The appointment of Kuipers as the township’s construction official and fire inspector followed the retirement of Michael Martin, who held those positions.
Kuipers had previously been appointed to the positions of temporary construction official and temporary fire inspector on April 4. Both of those appointments were for 30 days.
Before his new appointment, Kuipers served as the township’s electrical inspector and electrical sub-code official.
In other business, committee members appointed John Gerrity as Millstone’s building inspector and building sub-code official. Both appointments were effective April 23, with the term of building inspector expiring Dec. 31. Gerrity will receive an annual salary of $28,145 as building inspector and an annual salary of $3,855 as building sub-code official. Those positions were held by Martin prior to his retirement.
