A 27-year-old man died when the car he was a passenger in crashed into a concrete barrier and caught fire in Piscataway.
Tahir Jamile, 27, of the Colonia section of Woodbridge, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the early morning hours of May 6, according to a statement provided by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Scott Cartmell of the Piscataway Police Department.
The investigation determined the driver of a 2014 Toyota Camry hit a concrete barrier on Stelton Road near Jessie Way and the car caught fire, according to the statement. The driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick with serious injuries and underwent immediate surgery. Jamile was pronounced dead at the scene.
