The Daniel Pearl Education Center (DPEC), an East Brunswick-based
charitable organization, is sponsoring its fifth annual golf classic on May 20 at the Cranbury Golf Club, 49 Southfield Road, West Windsor.
In addition to the golf tournament, there will be an afternoon of mahjong, canasta and board games.
After lunch, there will be a dinner and silent auction.
Sponsorships are available, including meal and hole sponsorships.
Golfers will compete for the classic championship and will also
vie for prizes, including an automobile for a hole in one, longest drive and
closest to the pin.
The $150 golf fee includes greens fees, electric cart, locker room facilities, lunch, beverages, dinner and awards. The $30 mahjong/canasta fee includes an afternoon of games, plus lunch, and participants may join the golfers for dinner for an additional $30.
All proceeds support the DPEC’s annual multi-cultural trip to Washington, D.C., and other programs reinforcing its commitment to the ideals of community, principles of the late Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and murdered by extremists in Pakistan in 2002.
