NORTH BRUNSWICK – North Brunswick’s 2018 Road Program includes nearly $4.1 million in street and utility improvements to six municipal roadways.
This year’s largest project will be the reconstruction of Schmidt Lane in its entirety, including the replacement of a water main and repairs to the sanitary sewer system. Comparable work will also be done along Sherman Road, beginning at Williamson Road, and continuing through the entire length of Jackson Drive, according to Director of Community Development Michael Hritz.
A large portion of Axel Avenue, from Poplar Avenue to Seneca Road, will see repairs including a new water main, sanitary sewer maintenance, milling and paving, and curb replacement, Hritz said.
Residents of both Allgair Avenue and Peppermint Hill Road will see their entire streets base repaired, milled and paved along with curb replacement. There will also be substantial stormwater improvements to Allgair Avenue.
The schedule, which is weather dependent, includes a series of improvements from now through the end of the year.
Since 2001, the township has spent more than $43.5 million repairing more than 122 municipal roads and the associated utility infrastructure covering almost 33.5 miles, Hritz said.
