Donors, volunteers needed to support American Red Cross

The American Red Cross will hold blood drives from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 2 at St. James Episcopal Church, 2136 Woodbridge Ave., Edison; and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 9 at Shirdi Sai Cultural and Community Center, 465 Lincoln Highway, Iselin section of Woodbridge.
All blood types are needed. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.
To donate blood, download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED-CROSS.
Another way to support the lifesaving mission of the American Red Cross is to become a volunteer transportation specialist and deliver lifesaving blood products to local area hospitals.
