Zachary Beyer, a veteran member of East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1, has been honored as the Emergency Medical Technician of the Year by Mayor Janice S. Mironov and members of the East Windsor Township Council.
But that should not come as a surprise, because Beyer received the same honor in 2013. He joined East Windsor Rescue Squad District 1 in 2011 and was already certified as an EMT.
Mironov presented Beyer with a proclamation recognizing his dedication. The proclamation states that his “exceptional leadership and service has made a tremendous asset to the organization” and has earned Beyer the respect of his colleagues, and appreciation by residents.
Beyer, who is the deputy chief, has responded to hundreds of calls and is always ready to help other volunteer emergency medical technicians when they respond on a call, Mironov said.
Mironov also recognized the dedication and efforts of the other volunteer emergency medical technicians, noting that they all volunteer their time to help residents and anyone who needs medical help.
“It is really special to save a life. It is something you will always remember,” Mironov said. “It’s one thing an individual has done that they will be able to carry with them for the rest of their life.”
