JACKSON – The Township Council has renewed the liquor licenses that are held by Jackson businesses and organizations.
Council President Ken Bressi and council members Barry Calogero, Ann Updegrave and Scott Martin voted to authorize the renewal of the licenses on June 26. Vice President Robert Nixon was absent.
Retail consumption licenses were issued to the Cassville Tavern, CeeGee’s Bar and Grill, Six Flags Great Adventure, Cornick Industries, Pine Barrens Golf Club, McGinn’s Pub, Metedeconk National Golf Club, Dr. Ira Port, Surf Taco and 21 South Bar and Grill.
Retail distribution licenses were issued to Spirits Unlimited, Willy’s Corner Liquors and Buy Rite, Glory’s Discount Market, Plaza Wine and Liquors, Buy Rite Liquors and Wine O Land and Rajvi Liquor LLC.
Club licenses were issued to the Howell-Jackson Colombian Club, the Loyal Order of Moose No. 1459, American Veterans Post No. 2 Ocean County, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4703, the Lakewood Estonian Association Inc., Jackson Elks Lodge No. 2744 and the Westlake Master Association.
The liquor licenses are valid through June 30, 2019.
In other business, council members authorized the appointment of members to the Zoning Board Adjustment.
Steven Costanzo, who is currently serving as the board’s chairman, was reappointed to a term that will run from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022. Carl F. Book Jr. was reappointed to a term that will also run from July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2022.
Scott Najarian, who had been serving as the board’s first alternate, was appointed as a regular member following the resignation of John Suttles, who moved out of Jackson. Najarian’s term will run through June 30, 2021.
Joseph Sullivan, who was serving as the board’s second alternate, was appointed as the first alternate through June 30, 2019.
Alternate members are seated if there are not enough regular board members present at a meeting to hear an application.
