University of the Sciences, Philadelphia, Pa., announced that the following area residents have graduated: Julie Ko of Manalapan, doctor of pharmacy degree; Alexander Kowalczyk of Freehold, doctor of pharmacy degree; Katelyn Murphy of Manalapan, summa cum laude, doctor of physical therapy degree; Samantha Quon of Marlboro, magna cum laude, doctor of physical therapy degree; Joseph Seares of Freehold, cum laude, Bachelor of Science in biomedical sciences degree and a minor in music; Dana Serao of Manalapan, cum laude, doctor of pharmacy degree; Jennifer Vetrano of Morganville; cum laude, master of occupational therapy degree; and Timothy Yeung of Freehold, Bachelor of Science in pharmaceutical and healthcare business degree.

The Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, Ga., presented degrees to the following area residents: Andrew Huynh of Morganville, Bachelor of Science in chemical and biomolecular engineering; Thomas Wraback of Manalapan, Bachelor of Science in computer science; and Tessa Valentien of Morganville, Bachelor of Science in computer science.

Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., has named Nina McMerty of Freehold to the dean’s list for academic excellence for the spring 2018 term. Nina is studying health science/occupational therapy.

Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa., has named Nicolette Sperczak of Marlboro to the spring 2018 dean’s list.

Ian R. Baum of Morganville was recently named to the dean’s list at Colby College, Waterville, Maine, for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2017-18 academic year. Ian, who is a member of the Class of 2020, attended Marlboro High School and is the son of Mitchel and Rochelle Baum. He is majoring in economics and government.

Widener University, Chester, Pa., announced that the following area residents have been named to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester: Mitchell MacKesy of Freehold, majoring in communication studies; and Briana Yellin of Manalapan, majoring in nursing.

The University of New Haven, West Haven, Conn., has named the following area residents to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester: from Englishtown: Alexandra Chueiri; from Freehold: Madison Davis; from Manalapan: Adam Comuniello, Emily Fiedler and Lauren Homer; from Marlboro: Matt Schaeffer and Jennifer Vozzo.

The University of New Haven, West Haven, Conn., announced the graduation of the following area residents: from Englishtown: Alexandra Chueiri, Bachelor of Science, College of Arts and Sciences, biology with a concentration in premedical, and Bachelor of Science, Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences, forensic science with a concentration in biology; from Freehold: Rachel Lodi, Bachelor of Arts, College of Arts and Sciences, interior design; and from Marlboro: Matt Schaeffer, Bachelor of Science, College of Business, accounting.

LeAnn Joyce Heredia of Englishtown has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2018 semester at Kutztown University, Kutztown, Pa. LeAnn is majoring in English. She is a graduate of Manalapan High School, class of 2016.

Garrett DeSantis of Manalapan has graduated with a Juris Doctor from Western New England University, Springfield, Mass.

Gianna Barres of Manalapan has been inducted into the Muhlenberg College, Allentown, Pa., chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. Founded in 1776, Phi Beta Kappa has celebrated excellence in the liberal arts and sciences and championed freedom of thought since that time.

Dominic Scaffa of Manalapan has graduated from the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Medford/Somerville, Mass., Dominic earned a DVM.

Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill., student Bethany Lin of Manalapan was named to the spring 2018 dean’s list.

Harrah Newman of Morganville has graduated from the University of Rochester, N.Y., with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical engineering. Harrah is the child of Michele Newman and David Newman, and a graduate of Freehold Township High School.

Two Freehold residents have been named to the dean’s list at Boston University, Boston, Mass., for the 2018 spring semester: Alia A. Al-Chalabi and Meredith A. Varner.

Boston University, Boston, Mass., announced that the following residents of Freehold have graduated: Christopher J. Grimaldi, Juris Doctor in law; Rohit Pillai, Bachelor of Arts in medical science, summa cum laude; Stephanie Parker, Master of Science in computer information systems; and Alexander J. O’Connor, Bachelor of Arts in computer science.

Brandon Forman of Morganville received a white coat at the White Coat Ceremony at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, Harrogate, Tenn. The ceremony is designed to mark a student’s entrance into the clinical rotations of their medical school training. Brandon is beginning his third year as an osteopathic medical student. He received an undergraduate degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and will be starting clinical rotations this fall.

William DeMato of Manalapan has been placed on the dean’s commendation list for outstanding academic achievement in the spring 2018 semester at Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pa.

Kevin Wall of Manalapan has earned a Bachelor of Art degree in communication/sport journalism from Springfield College, Springfield, Mass., for studies completed in 2018.

Nicole Francese of Freehold has been named to the dean’s list for the 2018 spring semester at Towson University, Towson, Md. Nicole is enrolled in the Honors College and is majoring in mass communications.

Molly Christine Walsh of Freehold graduated with a degree in education from the Graduate School at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va., announced the graduation of two area residents: Michael Salvatore Cugliari of Marlboro graduated with a degree in accounting; Jake Alexander Stein of Manalapan graduated with a degree in public policy and administration.

Jillian Szczesny of Morganville has been named to the dean’s list at Towson University, Towson, Md., for the 2018 spring semester. Jillian is the daughter of Joann and Richard Szczesny.

Christina Pujat of Freehold was named to the Merrimack College, North Andover, Mass., dean’s list for spring 2018.
