The North Brunswick Department of Parks, Recreation & Community Services’s Constructing Robotics Enrichment Class will join ConstructU for a summer enrichment class that introduces students to robotics using the VEX IQ Robotics System.
Students in second to eighth grade, at any level, will be divided into groups per age and experience. On day one, campers will review the VEX Robotics components and build a simple robot. On day two, campers will build robots and structures to satisfy various challenges in a robot soccer tournament. On day three, groups will construct a robot to collect ball/squares to discover which robot design will collect the most in a given time. Later, they will design a virtual VEX IQ model online, choose a design, then build it. They will use the Python blocky language to start coding.
Campers will also spend time outside studying solar energy, participate in team building activities, and take advantage of the “A for Art” in STEAM to create robots to compete in every challenge.
The camp will be held from 9 a.m. to noon from July 9-13 in the Employee Lounge of the North Brunswick Municipal Building, 710 Hermann Road, North Brunswick.
Send a snack each day.
The cost is $180 per participant.
